Canadian Select Genetics Ltd is a dynamic organization engaged on the business of producing and selling turkey hatching eggs from sophisticated newly built farms using the latest technology. Our farm operations are positioned in different areas of Southwestern Ontario. The company is owned by a Canadian family and by a U.S. based poultry genetics group (Aviagen – the largest poultry breeding company in the world); both owner parties have extensive knowledge and experience on the turkey business at the local and worldwide levels.

Carrying out and overseeing Record Keeping and Retention:
Implementing and overseeing Flocks Biosecurity Programs and Procedures:
Barn/facilities and equipment washing and sanitation;
Grounds, Buildings & Equipment Maintenance and Pest Control;
Implement and oversee Farms Emergency Programs and Procedures:
Implementation and overseeing of Animal Welfare Programs as to ensure that all flocks are protected against any conditions which might cause suffering or injury; seeking to find solutions to resolve any condition which might cause undue suffering to any flocks;
Develop and implement a preventative repair and maintenance program and schedule;
Responsible for carrying out and overseeing all farm buildings and equipment repairs and maintenance;

Implement all guidelines and procedures that relate to employee recruiting/hiring, employee discipline, WSIB, employee communication, employee benefits, and time sheets reporting,…
Coordinate, organize and schedule of farm workers to optimize production efficiencies and perform all required duties.
Employee Training – technical and other training of new employees and ongoing as needed.
Oversee the implementation of all Health and Safety policies and programs as required by law and/or as required by the company in the farms under your responsibility;
Behave and take appropriate and concerted actions with the approval and guidance of your supervisor to deliver favourable non-financial and financial results to the company;
Take appropriate actions to protect the assets and interests of the company and its ownership;
Successful candidates should meet the following criteria:
Knowledge or experience in the poultry industry ( this is an asset but not a requirement);
Education: Secondary School Diploma required – candidates with Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in the Agriculture area preferred;
Must have aptitude, competence and enjoy the challenges of working and managing a team of employees; candidates with previous experience on managing people preferred;
Must have excellent verbal & written communication skills;
Good degree of competence on diagnosing and performing farm equipment repairs;
Good organization/ planning skills and competence;
Basic computer knowledge and skills (MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook);Compensation/Benefits & Other:
