Professionalism and a high standard of customer service are critical. Comprehensive knowledge of dairy farming is certainly a benefit, but not a deal breaker.
Role and Responsibilities
Working with the sales manager and route supervisor to ensure your customers are getting the best NDS has to offer
Building relationships with each of your producers
Show an interest in the producers business. Take notice of happenings on farm
Always present yourself and NDS in a professional manner
Keep up to date with the changes in the industry and discuss these changes with producers
Keep the producers fully stocked so they do not run out
Communicate with producers so they know when to expect you back – establish a routine
Keep our area of milk house clean
Keep Route truck clean and organized
Handle customer inquiries. Make sure the right person is given the right information
Feed leads back to the Sales Manager so they can be followed up
Develop working relationship with other NDS departments (Mid-Cap, service)
Assisting with new product launch activities
Skills and Qualifications
Physically fit and able to lift heavier items and move barrels and jugs
Good organizational and planning skills
Ability to sell products. Not afraid to cold call or generate leads
Ability to work alone – treat route as your own business
Ability to be a team player
Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft an asset
