The Assistant Plant Manager will be located in Seaforth, Ontario and will focus on plant operations and quality control. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and within a team environment, demonstrate sound decision-making aptitude and delivery of customer service excellence. The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for but not limited to the following:
The successful candidate Will:
Work closely with the location manager; supervise the operation of a high volume country elevator and soybean export processing facility
Meet the needs of both internal and external customers providing a high level of service-Assist with management of the team involved with receiving, handling, storage, loading and shipping of grain
Manages the receiving, grading, binning, cleaning, processing, blending and shipping of products ensuring optimal use of facility space and equipment to meet shipping commitments
Establish and maintain all relevant industry accreditation including HACCP, CIPRIS, etc., and understand plant audits and results, and respond to all identified process deficiencies, understand and implement all industry regulations, and ensure compliance for a safe working environment/facility which portrays a positive image complying with all health and safety initiative
Identify, evaluate and resolve plant product safety and quality issues as they arise Maintain and audit effective plant sanitation programs
Ensure employees are educated and trained to perform their jobs safely and to accept responsibility for their own safety performance
Qualifications:
Previous grain handling and management/ Supervisor experience
Ability to research and solve problems with proper decision making skills
Knowledge of the agricultural industry standards and procedures
Proven team leadership, strong organizational, entrepreneurial, and interpersonal skills
Clear and strong communication skills
Strong people skills
Mechanically inclined
