Beef Cattle Herdsperson (ID: 1308)

Ken Van Raay Inc. (Barrhill Feedlot),  located in Picture Butte, Alberta  is looking for a full-time penchecker for our large, modern beef cattle finishing feedlot.   Must have livestock experience and be able to recognize livestock health problems, pull sick/injured cattle from pens and follow protocols with regards to animal treatment, consult and assist with herd veterinarians and perform other feedlot duties as needed.  This is a permanent, full time, day, position with some weekends.  The ability to ride a horse is an asset, as it will be required to perform the duties of the job.  You should possess good communication skills and have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.  Pay is dependent on experience. We have an open LMIA.   Benefits after 3 month probation period.  Housing could be available to the right person.  Please forward your resume via e-mail to lorivr@barrhill.ca or fax to 403-757-2103 or contact Peter at 403-757-2102.
