Our client is a successful and growing agronomy services business in the Pinewood, ON area. They currently have a full-time Crop Advisor opportunity available. This rewarding job will be primarily responsible for sales and customer relationship
management as well as crop and input planning, field scouting, recommendations.
Responsibilities:
Develop & nurture customer loyalty and trust by adding value and providing
sound agronomic advice and solutions to growers
Develop business plans with farm customers and provide follow-up for support,
advice and product recommendations specifically for their individualized needs
Create positive customer experience and ensure satisfaction
Monitor customer satisfaction and sales history, in season inventory supplies,
products in tight supply or that require specific attention, competitor
pricing/activity, market share, grower/supplier programs
Scout fields to provide agronomic solution options while also considering grower
programs, past purchases, agronomics and economics & environmental
conditions, customer likes/dislikes
Assist with the management and delivery of prescribed products & solutions
Strategically target new customers
Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, customers, suppliers,
competitors and all industry personnel to effectively increase our ability to provide
better staff & customer solutions
Develop and implement a form of communication to share information,
intelligence, news, findings, alerts etc. with our team
Attend industry events, grower meetings, conferences, educational courses, field
trials, manufacturer product launches & training opportunities in order to stay
current on new and existing products, agronomic & industry trends and to identify
marketing and sales initiatives
Manage customer product inquires
When needed, assist with warehouse operations to satisfy both AWSA and practicality/efficiency needs
Engage & contribute with constructive feedback to management
Work as part of a team to contribute to company morale and overall company
success. Bring energy & fun to the company and build on everyone’s passion for
agriculture
Continue to seek professional development, share and teach findings with the
entire organization
Contribute where needed including leadership, working with others, special
projects, filling in for absent employees, troubleshooting
Work with President on AWSA, CSA audits
Create field maps for scouting and custom application to display clear
instructions
Collaborate with Management
Communicate with growers & applicators
Work with President on trials including evaluating what should be tested, organizing in the pre-season, organize the collaborators, evaluate throughout the season, collect data,
compile & share data with PCS, collaborators & customers
Organize/host customer meetings, events, field tours etc.
Be flexible in work hours throughout the busy season
Maintain a clean and enjoyable working environment
Organize and execute soil sampling programs and associated recommendations
Assist with grain elevator operations when necessary.
Loading and unloading trucks
Other tasks as needed.
Educational Requirements/Skills:
Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or related experience, Agronomy preferred
Broad knowledge & passion for the agri-business industry with a commitment to
continuous learning & professional development
Exceptional skills in developing and maintaining strong business relationships
Organized, focused, self-motivated, positive attitude
Excellent time management skills and strong work ethic with a focus on results
Clear communication skills and ability to influence & sell our services
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong computer skills and knowledge of office systems
Proven skills and experience in managing staff and operations
Focus and attention to detail

Presents and conducts themself in a professional manner
Valid Ontario Drivers license
