Dairy Herdsperson (ID: 1794)

Fieldhouse Holsteins is looking for an additional team member to join their dairy operation as a Dairy Herdsperson. The successful candidate will be trained, educated, and provided with challenges in order to ensure the continued success of the dairy operation.

Job Description:

• Daily managing of a modern dairy farm with 65 cattle.
• Monitoring of herd, stall cleaning, and bedding in order to provide excellent herd health.
• Heat detection and breeding as well as vaccinations, and calving.
• Regular cleaning and maintenance in order to ensure that all of the equipment is operating properly.
• Operation of various farm machinery

Qualifications:

• Excellent work ethic and previous experience (minimum 3 years) working with Dairy cattle.
• Above average attention to detail skills.
• Ability to self-manage and solve problems as they arise.
• Mechanical ability for small repairs.
• Post secondary education in a related field is an asset.
• Pride in ownership of a job well done is mandatory.

Compensation:

• Compensation will be tailored to the successful applicant, but will include vacation pay, and housing is available.
