Farrow to Finish Swine Technician (ID: 1817)

Gerica Pork Inc. operates a successful farrow to finish operation in the Monkton area and is requiring a Swine Technician to start immediately.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience working with swine in a farrow to finish operation.
• A passion for the swine industry.
• Computer knowledge in order to operate the liquid and dry feeding systems.
• Organizational skills to ensure all tasks are completed as required.
• Ability to move small pigs and large hogs as needed.
• General maintenance skills are required.
• Desire to assist with the operation and enjoy a variety of duties.
• A valid G licence.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with all duties from breeding to finishing.
• Operate all feeding systems
• Oversee general herd health.
• Load and move animals as needed.
• Complete all minor repairs as instructed.
• Enjoy the variety of duties within the farrow to finish operation.
• Work with the owner and one part time employee in order to ensure the continued success of the operation.

This is a full time position with competitive remuneration based on experience.
