Field Operations Manager (ID: 1455)

Scope: Egg Farmers of Canada is seeking an experienced people leader who thrives on working with all levels of stakeholders, is passionate about sustaining Canada s farming sector, and can manage multiple projects. This position is responsible for all Field Operations activities including management of field services, program and policy development and execution. Key responsibilities include: ensuring the EFC animal care and food safety programs are implemented consistently nationally and to the egg industry s exacting standards; supporting poultry research and development; assisting with policy development; overseeing quota monitoring; and, promoting effective relations with Provincial/Territorial Boards and managers.

Duties and Responsibilities: This positions reports to the Chief Operating Officer and responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the management of the field operation team, Field Services Supervisor and Food Safety Specialist
• Oversee overall management and administration of On-Farm Food Safety program and Animal Care Program development and delivery
• Execution of field services and delivery of project and program objectives and KPIs
• Administration of HACCP team and Production Management Committee meetings
• Accountable for overseeing interprovincial movement and inventories of eggs
• Manage projects that includes multiple stakeholders

• Assess the feasibility, definition and scope of various projects, and allocate the projects to staff, which includes analysis, direction, mentoring, guidance and assessment.

• Develop annual budgets, objectives and targets for the Field Operations Unit
• Review and development of on-farm program policies as required
• Responsible for performance measurement of unit (i.e. scorecards)

• Capable of organizing and leading meetings, presentations and discussions, and building consensus through facilitative leadership

• Strong ability to refine complex information into concise, simple terms to a diverse group of stakeholders and develop and present recommendations related to key issues
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English for the purpose of completing daily activities, including multilevel stakeholder communications and Board of Director presentations is a must
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in French is an asset

Formal Education:

• Minimum: 2 3 years of college education in agriculture or a related field, or an equivalent education
• Graduate degree in farm and business management with a focus in poultry management and food safety would be considered an asset
• Health and safety trainin

Experience:

• 6 8 years experience in agriculture, the food industry or a related field
• 5+ years management experience
