Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking a Supervisor of Field Staff to join the Operations department. Under the supervision of the Field Operations Manager, the Supervisor of Field Staff is responsible for the supervision and coordination of ten remote Field Inspectors and is the primary liaison between EFC’s national office and EFC’s Field Inspectors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Tasks
Ensure accurate delivery of EFC policies and on-farm programs
Responsible for the day to day executive of Field Inspector activities, on-farm programs and EFC policies
Complete various administrative tasks including maintaining records, processing expenses, filing, etc.
Assist in the planning and organizing of semi-annual Field Inspector seminars
Provide content and support for Board and Committee meetings
Perform simple mathematical calculations for the administration and compensation of EFC flock management programs
People Supervision
Supervise, direct and coordinate Field Operations Unit staff
Coordinate activities and schedule of field staff
Mentor and train staff in audit practices and education programs
Maintain time off requests
Qualifications/Skills:
Supervisory skills, including maintaining communication, working relationships, and monitoring work performance of remote staff
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills for proofing written documents and writing detailed procedures for programs
Strong communication skills, ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders and work as part of a team
Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, confidentiality and diplomacy
Strong computer skills with the ability to work with various software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office and other business applications)
Education and Experience:
Minimum: 2 – 3 years of College education or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role. Remote supervision an asset
Experience in agricultural industry considered an asset
