Ontario Dairy Goat Co-operative (ODGC), a leading broker of fresh, high quality goat’s milk that is recognized as an industry leader, is currently seeking a General Manager to join their dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who values teamwork, initiative and accountability; a self-starter with a strong desire to learn and grow; and a demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
Operations and Finance:
Responsible for all aspects of the ODGC’s operations, to ensure that operations run efficiently and according to company policies.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers and partners in order to maximize profits.
Use knowledge of financial reporting and strong analytical skills to prepare recommendations for the Board of Directors.
Demonstrate leadership skills with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of impact and influence, negotiation and collaboration among multiple and diverse business partners.
Responsible for approval of invoices, payroll and producer payments.
Assist with monthly producer statement preparation.
Liaise with the Board of Directors on an as needed basis and through formal monthly meetings during which the General Manager reports on operations, finances, and volumes, and provides recommendations regarding future investments, financial and operational strategies.
Identify and respond to changes in the business environment while recommending and establishing plans to address issues and priorities.
Member Services:
Provide input to member communications.
Respond to member requests, questions and concerns.
Oversee the organization of member meetings.
Responsible for overseeing milk quality and communicating with members to address any milk quality concerns
Marketing and Public Relations:
Effectively interact and communicate with all individuals at all levels of the organization
Oversee marketing and public relations as needed.
Actively participate and represent ODGC at industry meetings and events.
Consistently build knowledge of the market, customers and broader economic factors.
Human Resources:
Responsible for overall human resources, including recruitment of company staff, employee development, orientation, training, payment, performance evaluation, and employee relations.
Develop and update human resource policies as required.
Report to the Board of Directors on human resource related issues on an as needed basis.
Additional duties as assigned.
