Our client is a leading multi-species, livestock processing facility located near Thamesford, Ontario. They are expanding at an unprecedented rate and are currently accepting applications for a Meat Cutter/Kill Floor Specialist for their busy operation.

What you will do:
Handle livestock humanly which includes: stunning, bleeding, skinning, legging, breasting, hide pulling, eviscerating, splitting and trimming carcasses.
Trim, wash and weigh carcasses
Boning of carcasses on the rail and on a moving table (Beef, Pork, Lamb)
Sharpen and maintain boning equipment.
Package, vacuum package, tray seal and label meat products
Picking orders and place items into appropriate containers for customers
Operate machinery including vacuum machine, tray sealer, labeller, metal detector and scale
Squeegee, clean floors, buckets, stands.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times
What you will need:
Knife experience or the ability and willingness to learn the methods and requirements of cutting
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
Must be willing to work in a cold and damp work environment
Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English is essential
Punctual with the desire to work early mornings. (6am start time)
An Agricultural background with experience working with livestock is a strong asset
Knowledgeable with primal, sub-primal, and retail cuts beef trim and ground is an asset
The ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floors is essential to success in this work environment
A reliable vehicle with a valid Class G Drivers license to commute to and from work daily as this position is not located near city transit.
Ability to pass a police record check
