Reporting to the General Manager, Sollio Crop Production, Western Canada, the primary role of the incumbent will be to analyse, develop and execute on a Go-to-Market strategy for our joint venture network in Western Canada. Identify key market opportunities in crop protection and seed products for our joint ventures (JV) and execute the strategy. The incumbent will work closely with the Sollio Agriculture procurement team in developing a supply channel optimizing supplier relationships/distribution channels to ensure our retail network has competitive supply to service their customers.
THE CHALLENGES WE OFFER
Develop a Go-to-Market strategy for the launch of crop protection and seed products and services for the Sollio. joint ventures and wholly owned retails in Western Canada;
Manage strategic relationships with crop protection products suppliers/distributors and with the Sollio team negotiate competitive advantages for the network in product supply and least cost positions;
Develop marketing initiatives that leverage business strengths to provide greater value to key suppliers while securing supplies, building a logistics system, and maximizing programming rebates for our JV partners;
Manage strategic relationships with seed suppliers;
Working closely with the sales team, forecast annual product requirements and make necessary seasonal adjustments through ongoing communication; submit purchase order requisitions to suppliers and maintain accurate product positions reports, reconcile supplier rebates for timely re-distribution to the Sollio network;
Ensure Sollio compliance with government and industry regulatory requirements applicable to crop protection products. Where appropriate, this position represents the Sollio network with related industry associations;
Working with key suppliers and the Sollio network, identify and launch new products and services that helps the Sollio network differentiate themselves providing a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE
You possess a University degree in Agronomy or in Marketing, combined with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience;
You have an acute focus on client needs, great negotiating skills, and have the capacity to develop and maintain sustainable relationships with various partners;
You have excellent communication skills and are politically astute. You are known for your ability to rally people around the objectives of your sector and the organization’s vision;
You can navigate in a complex organization with a business model that encompasses various types of market approaches (subsidiaries, joint ventures, third party engagements, etc.);
You are comfortable with technology and able to use it efficiently;
You possess experience in the agri-food and/or retail industries and strong knowledge of the commodities market an asset.
