LaSalle Agri and Bacres Grain are innovative and rapidly growing agricultural companies located in Watford, ON. We are a family-owned business and take immense pride in our commitment to delivering top-quality fertilizer products and providing exceptional service to our valued customers. Currently we have our dedicated Sales Manager who successfully runs the show, but due to our rapid growth, we are seeking to add another talented and driven individual to our team.

Position Overview- As a Regional Sales Manager at LaSalle Agri, you will play a crucial role in our expansion efforts, focusing on selling our fertilizer products to farmers and establishing relationships with farmers to buy grain from them. 60% of your time will be spent on the road dedicated to prospecting in new areas such as Woodstock, St. Thomas, etc. You will be at the forefront of our business growth, driving sales and building our customer base.

Responsibilities-

Relationship Building-

1. Build and nurture strong relationships with farmers and agricultural businesses in the assigned territory.
2. Develop a deep understanding of customer concerns and provide appropriate product recommendations.

Sales and Business Development-

1. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities by cold calling, prospecting, in-person visits and researching new farmers within the new regional markets (Woodstock, St. Thomas, Melbourne, etc.) to achieve sales targets and build our customer base.
2. Educate customers about our fertilizer products, emphasizing their benefits and proper application methods.
3. Provide expert advice on fertilizer selection based on soil conditions and crop requirements.

Farm Visits and Assessment-

1. Conduct on-site visits to customer farms to assess fertilizer needs, soil quality and crop health.
2. Stay updated on fertilizer research and advancements in soil management techniques.

Product Presentations and Demos-

1. Deliver persuasive product presentation and demonstrations to showcase the advantages of our fertilizer products.
2. Address customer inquiries, negotiate pricing, and secure contractual agreements.

Sales Reporting and Customer Service-

1. Prepare accurate and timely sales reports and forecasts, highlighting sales activities, customer feedback and market trends.
2. Track all sales activities in the CRM System to report on sales performance.
3. Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquires, complaints, and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Market Analysis and Collaboration-

1. Monitor competitors’ products, pricing, and market strategies to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
2. Continuously enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
3. Collaborate with the marketing team on promotional campaigns and materials to enhance sales efforts.

Industry Representation-

1. Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, farm shows, etc. to network, generate leads, and promote our company and services

Requirements-

• 1 to 2 years of Sales Experience (Fertilizer Sales an asset)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven track record in Ag Sales, specifically in fertilizer.
• Willingness to trave with assigned territory for farm visits and meeting
• Diploma in Agriculture/ Agribusiness or a similar field would be preferred.
• Analytical mindset to assess sold conditions, crop health and fertilizer needs
• Ability to provide custom solutions to different customers through active listening
• Extensive knowledge of fertilizer types, application methods and crop requirements.
• Existing connections and relationships with farmers in the target area so the candidate is not starting from scratch.
