We are currently seeking an experienced and energetic Accounts Payable Coordinator to join the Semex Shared Services Finance team based out of Guelph, ON.
In a dedicated role to support EastGen, the Accounts Payable Coordinator will focus on all accounts payable and cash disbursements, the employee expense system, general administration and back up responsibilities for other accounting roles as required.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Entering invoices into the Accounts Payable ERP System
Balancing and verifying accounts payable and cash disbursements to the ledger
Cutting and preparing cheque runs in a timely manner
Maintaining detailed spreadsheet files for expenses (prepaid rent, utilities and staff cell phones)
Preparing credit card files for staff, coordinating monthly approval process with managers and balancing staff reconciled statements to bank statements
Maintaining the bank credit card application system (new and terminated cards, credit limits)
Completing a variety of accounting tasks and other administrative responsibilities including incoming and outgoing mail, inventory of office/kitchen supplies, and ensuring office machines are maintained
Back-up duties of other accounting roles as assigned
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Accounting or a related field
Minimum 2 years related AP experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required, ERP experience and knowledge of SharePoint are assets
General accounting experience and exposure to QuickBooks considered an asset.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Detail-oriented and organized, with well-developed time management skills to meet deadlines and strategically handle multiple priorities.
