We sell and service a wide variety of agricultural, construction and turf equipment from manufactures including John Deere, Stihl, Terex and Western. We are seeking a proven performer to join our team as a Sales Manager. This is a permanent, full-time position which requires rotational Saturdays and offers a competitive compensation & benefit package. Job Description:
Reporting to the Owner and General Manager, and working closely with sales staff, customers and distributors, the responsibilities include:
Develop and implement strategies for increasing sales and market share
Managing, scheduling, recruiting and coaching sales staff
Support, assist and monitor sales staff in regards to sales goals and activities
Provide inside sales support to customers during peak periods, including customer walk ins and sales calls
Work with sales staff to engage existing and prospective customers to negotiate and close deals, as well as maintain relationships
Implement effective sales department processes by sharing best practices to ensure optimal financial, market and customer performance
Oversee the sales documentation process and ensure that it is followed by all sales team members
Work with Parts and Service Managers to promote customer satisfaction and to develop and implement comprehensive product offerings
Develop and market Integrated Solutions for agricultural customers
Manage new, used and rental complete goods inventory, which includes maintaining proper inventory levels and order program utilization
Oversee arrangement of equipment on lot and in showroom
Assist sales team in assigning trade values to assist in selling new equipment while ensuring the profitable resale of used equipment
Assist with marketing and advertising of new and used equipment
Planning and implementation of, as well as participation at, customer events and demonstrations
Liaise with existing and potential product suppliers
Assist in professional development of sales staff by assessing and defining training needs
Assist with annual performance reviews of sales staff
Education, Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
5+ years equipment sales experience. Previous sales management preferred
Proven managerial ability including leading, coaching, and developing others
Post-secondary education in business, finance or agriculture related discipline
Extensive knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment as well as technology trends/advancements
Knowledge of relevant agricultural practices and trends
Computer proficient with experience using a variety of software applications such as MS Office
G licence with clean abstract. Class A license preferred.
